Play from 57:24Nov 20, 2025, Special Council Meeting - Violations of the Dangerous Building Ordinance (VDBO)
So at any sale, they would be rolled into into the sale before the sale would go through?

So, once again, make it clear to all of us that if we declare this building that it needs to be demolished, there's still wiggle room for whoever purchases it, the condemnation carries forward, and the instructions for them to tear it down go along with the sale to the next owner?
Play from 58:02Nov 20, 2025, Special Council Meeting - Violations of the Dangerous Building Ordinance (VDBO)
With no recourse against the present owner?

Council President, just before, if you don't mind I would just like to I just wanted to say one quick comment before that, if that's all right with you.

I just want to address the fact that I know there's individuals that want to help individuals that's on the median. What I would offer as an idea is a QR code. A QR code which you can pull up on your phone and donate to organizations that either provide housing, provide um health services, whatever the resource is, you can you can donate to that organization and help them to sustain their program so and know that your money is going towards what you wanted it to go towards. And so I would just offer that to say that can substitute for the individual that's standing in the median, you'd have a QR code and a

Thank you for recognizing me, Council President. Thank you for both sides of this matter. My silence does not mean I'm not engaged. I've just learned now that silence is more powerful, so when I speak it matters. Um This is what I This is what I I want clarity on for procedural. We pulled it off the consent, we placed it on the agenda. Is that what I hear?
Play from 1:57:10Nov 10, 2025, Regular City Council Meeting
All right. 'Cause my, my, my aim is to make sure that—I mean, I'm just going to say it. No, I, I—I mean, I'm not intimidated, you guys know that, but I, I, I don't think it's fair for the public nor Council to go through another 3 weeks of this discussion when, when we're here to at least, to at least hear, I'm not saying we have to take action, to at least hear the concerns. My position is this, that I'll—

Y'all can be clapping for me now and booing me later. I love you, Uncle Earl, so I don't need you to clap. So, so, so, so it's, that's life, so it doesn't matter. So my, so my, so my, my position is—but my position on it is this:

Where I frequently travel, really by Salisbury, Forest Avenue between the Walgreens, CVS, Walk-In Care C, I will admit not everybody is incoherent when they're panhandling, but I—it's it happens enough where I've seen individuals really not in a coherent state. And we have, with high school drivers, with not with people who are, you know, inclement weather. I, too, have no—nobody has never came to my window and knocked on my door, tried to get in. I've not experienced that. But what I have observed, it it it is wildly unsafe. Especially now, where we love over by the Kent—Kenton Road,

and the traffic is so - it is increasing so much, it's not even if something's going to happen, it's when. And not just a pedestrian, but anybody like Councilman Rocha, I hate to pull him in, or individuals who have had to - Dr. Pillsbury and police officers - that you've had to either experience firsthand, many of you have, or work with, or see a dead body, and you're the one responsible for it. Can you imagine an innocent driver who's just going somewhere and hit somebody and now you have to live with that? Even though you probably won't be charged, there - there - there's a mental, emotional connectivity to that moment that can ruin both lives. I - I - I don't - I don't disagree with anybody being - if you don't want to give, don't give. But I do understand the necessity of letting them do it in a safe place. That median, and it's very narrow and it's not even flat. It's - it's - it's a - it's pointed, it's triangular, kind of triangular. So no - it's not stable anyway. So my quest- my - my point is, what did you say? My point is--

I wasn't in office at that time. My point is, my point is that my - my point is, if we can do somebody safely so they can panhandle, wherever they need to panhandle, that's fine. And I - I don't want anybody fined or get jail time or any of those things. I don't want that. But I do ask that we find a way to move people along safe-

first say happy Veterans Day to those who proudly served, and in every aspect of the way. Also to the fellow furloughed federal government employees, we endured it, so those who endured this time, it looks like it's almost over. We haven't been paid since October, but we remain strong.

Two- Three, I want to say that, Councilman Boggerty, The WELL Church, under my leadership, and the leadership of my wife, along with Dream Big LLC, we will be providing free breakfast on Thanksgiving Day. It's to go. The location would be at 300 Lockerman, the, under construction, home of The WELL Life Center. Again, it's to go. So anybody who's, on Thanksgiving Day, from 8:00 to 10:00, we will be providing to-go breakfasts at The WELL Life Center at 300 Lockerman. So if you know somebody who needs at least a breakfast meal, please send them to 300 Lockerman. Again, it's to go. We're not allowed inside the building just yet, so I'll announce it again, and y'all have a great night. Thank you.
