Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
Questions? Uh Councilman Rocha.
Play from 1:19:21Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
Any other questions? I'm going to declare this public hearing now open. And since we are already heard from before, anybody else would like to testify for this annexation? Hearing none, anybody would like to hear uh hear against this annexation? Hearing none, this public hearing is closed. I want to make this comment, if I think it's moot on our part not to bring it in as annexation. Whatever negotiations are going to go between the owner of this property and DelDOT or anybody else is separate from the the what what is going to occur when you create this connection uh to to one. That's the only thing that is really our concern. Our concern is with every piece of property that would be able to use that moving down. The negotiations between the state and a private owner of property is really not our concern at this point. We we can't protect that property owner by by turning this down. So I would say let's move on

Play from 1:22:22Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
Yeah. Councilman Boggerty, I, thought I heard Mr. Scott, who's the engineer, say he wants this to happen. Would you like to hear him say, "Yes, I want this to happen" or "I don't want this to happen"? Because that's exactly what he said for his company that he owns this. This is what, what his business is. And that's what I heard. If I'm wrong, Mr. Scott can come back up and say, "Yes, we want to be annexed in."
Play from 1:23:52Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
Understanding all of, all of what he did not know, but he still said, "I want that in." So, I think basically it rests with him. Do they want it in, or they don't want it in?
Play from 1:24:19Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
All right, let's invite Mr. Scott back up and say does he want to still be under oath and whatever he's heard. I might. He's the one He's the one representing the owner of the property.

Play from 1:28:28Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting

So uh it they gave voting uh it has deferred for 30 days and we'll come back and do it again. And at that time I hope Mr. Scott after he's conferred with his his uh villagers as to what they wish to do, and with that, uh this is basically it's over and done. It's been deferred for 30 days.
Play from 1:28:40Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting

Play from 1:29:02Mar 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting
Well, the annexation Well, the annexation motion basically is that's what this is about. And if you defer it, you've deferred that annexation. There is no annexation tonight.
