SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - ES ACTION (PUBLIC) - Potential Land Acquisition

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on May 8, 2019 at 5:31 p.m. with Council President Slavin presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Neil, Mr. Polce, Mr. Hare, and Mr. Lindell. Mr. Sudler and Mr. Cole were absent. Mayor Christiansen was also present. Council staff members present were City Solicitor Rodriguez, Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. Hugg, and Mrs. McDowell. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Neil moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Hare and unanimously carried. Mr. Hare moved to recess into Executive Session pursuant to 29 Del. C. §10004 (b)(2) - Preliminary discussions on site acquisitions for any publicly funded capital improvements, or sales or leases of real property. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 5:31 p.m. The Executive Session adjourned at 5:52 p.m. ACTION RESULTING FROM THE EXECUTIVE SESSION Potential Land Acquisition During the executive session, Mrs. Donna Mitchell, City Manager, reviewed the appraisal and other relevant information related to a potential property purchase. Mr. Neil moved to authorize the City Manager to continue to negotiate in the City’s best interest. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hare and unanimously carried. Mr. Hare moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Neil and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m. TRACI A.
