SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING-ES ACTION (PUBLIC) - Potential Land Acquisition

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on September 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. with Council President Hare presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Sudler, Mr. Neil, Mr. Slavin, Mr. Cole, Mr. Polce, and Mr. Taylor. Mr. Lindell was absent. Mayor Christiansen was also present. Council staff members present were Mr. Rodriguez, Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. Hugg, and Ms. Devine. Other staff members present were Mr. Harline. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Neil moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Taylor and unanimously carried. Mr. Neil moved to recess into Executive Session pursuant to 29 Del. C. §10004 (b)(2) - Preliminary discussions on site acquisitions for any publicly funded capital improvements, or sales or leases of real property. The motion was seconded by Mr. Taylor and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 6:00 p.m. The Executive Session adjourned at 6:30 p.m. ACTION RESULTING FROM THE EXECUTIVE SESSION Potential Land Acquisition During the executive session Mrs. Donna Mitchell, City Manager, provided an update on the negotiations for the acquisition of the Duncan Center. Mr. Slavin moved to terminate further consideration of the purchase and or lease of the Duncan Center and to withdraw authorization for the City Manager to engage in any negotiations on behalf of the City. The motion was seconded by Mr. Sudler and unanimously carried. Mr. Slavin moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Cole and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting adjourned at 6:31 p.m. DENISE L.
