SPECIAL COUNCIL

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on January 30, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., with Council President Sudler presiding. Council members present were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Boggerty (via Webex), Mr. Neil (via Webex), Dr. Pillsbury (via Webex), Ms. Arndt (via Webex), and Mr. Rocha. Mr. Hare and Mayor Christiansen were absent. Council staff members present were Mr. Hugg, Ms. Bennett, and Mrs. Walls. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Rocha moved for adoption of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Anderson, and unanimously carried (Hare absent). #778 Budget Reallocation Paul Waddell, Electric Director, stated that he had come before council back in October and asked for a switch in the budget process due to a $76,000 price increase in another vehicle. Mr. Waddell continued to state that he was expecting more price increases, which were received on two other vehicles. He had said that they could be lucky because if he could come across a truck then he could purchase it. Mr. Waddell explained that they originally budgeted $214,400 for #778 but that was nowhere near what the cost of the truck is now, which went up to $286,000. So of that amount, they have $76,000 for #775, $13,817 for #772, $12,437 for #759, and $57,303 for #749. The amount left over of $123,333 will either go back into the electric general fund or can be utilized for other projects. Mr. Waddell noted that this truck is on a lot and if approved he could have it by the end of the week hopefully. Mr. Anderson moved to approve the reallocation of budgeted funding for #778 to purchase a readily available replacement for #749. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rocha and unanimously carried (Hare absent).
